Hello everyone, today I will write the last blog of this English course.
It was a great experience, I had never done a blog writing about my personal tastes and talking about the career. It was also a lot of fun reading to my peers, I discovered things I didn't know (like some websites and some movies) and made online classes from home way more entertaining.
I think my writing skills have improved, every time I blogged I had less trouble writing the story and it took me less time. Although I still have a lot to improve in terms of writing, I think the fact that we worked through blogs made us develop this skill because it was a more dynamic learning method.
I do not know what I would like to include or what other topics I would use to write, because I think the teacher was very dynamic and talked about many different topics and used various tools like videos, games and blogs. The topics he made us write about were very general so we were very free to write about them.
Finally I want to thank Professor Benjy and my classmates, we were a small course, but I think we all tried to make it work and tried our best to get it through despite quarantine.
Thank you for everything, I hope we can read to each other again.

Blog 8: A subject you enjoyed studying this semester
Hello everyone, today I will tell you about my favorite subject this semester
My favorite class is called Intangible Heritage, it is a transversal that is given in the FAU and is very interesting. During the class, the teacher presents a ppt (power point) and goes ask us questions about the subject, we also watch videos and read essays on intangible heritage and Chilean identity, it is a very fun class and where you learn a lot about the customs and traditions of the peoples who live in all regions of Chile.
Some of the topics discussed in the class are fairs and markets of Chile, traditional games, religious ceremonies that take place in the country and myths and legends. Now the professor made us create a work (atlas, story, comic) that talks about a topic and can be presented to children so that they learn more didactically about intangible heritage in Chile.
I think it's my favorite subject because I've learned a lot about the Chilean identity present in the country and about the different ways it has to manifest itself, plus the teacher always tries to get us to relate the content to our career and it is very interesting.

Blog 7: A Career-Related Website or an Expert in Your Field
Hello everyone, today I will talk about an expert in my field that I admire
The person I admire is Jane Jacobs, she was a journalist, socio-political activist and self-taught urban planner who was born in 1916 in the United States, who in the early 1960s led a movement that opposed the construction of a highway in New York since they led the destruction of neighborhoods and displacement of residents who had lived all their lives there. She studied and analyzed the streets because he believed that in this was the vision that people have of the city.

Some of his books are:
-The Death and Life of Great American Cities (1967)
-The Question of Separatism (1980)
-Cities and the Wealth of Nations (1985)
Jane Jacobs is the person I admire most mainly for her contributions to urban planning and for being an innate leader of a movement that sought to defend the human scale in the great American cities.

My favorite character is teacher Gruwell, as she never gives up with her students and always supports them (even after school), she managed to create a family with people who used to be rivals and that's admirable. I watched the film for the first time 2 years ago, I do not remember exactly how many times I have watched it but every time it's on tv I watch it or if I feel like seeing it, I look it up on the internet.

Blog 5: A photograph you like
Hello everyone, today I will tell you about the photograph that I like the most.
This photo was taken by my sister a few weeks ago (I don't remember exactly when). In it I'm with my BTS MOTS: 7 albums, I remember asking her to take a photo of me because I was so excited to get the albums from Korea, I had waited for them since February, but as a result of the pandemic I had to wait for months since customs and shipments had been closed. My albums were stopped for safety, but luckily they arrived.
That day was a chaos, I had to leave before my online classes to go to withdraw them, I had to do a very long line and I was very cold, however, I was very happy and excited to have my babies in my hands. Even though it's not the first time I buy an album, the excitement and happiness of opening it and seeing it's photo book, designs, cd and photocards is always the same.

Blog 4: Music
Hello everyone, today I will tell you about my favorite musical group.
My favorite group is BTS (Bangtan), which is a South Korean band composed of 7 members who debuted on June 13, 2013. Bangtan doesn't have an established music style, they are versatile artists who have worked with a mix of genres and styles like hip hop, R&B and EDM throughout their musical career.
They are my favorite artists because they are simply wonderful and talented people, they compose and write their songs which mostly speak about mental health issues, self-love, consumerism, among others, and in 7 years have helped many ARMY (fandom) throughout the world, have been able to break the language barrier and xenophobia paving the way for other Korean groups looking to enter the international market.
My favorite albums are Dark&wild, Love Yourself: tear and Map of the soul: 7, the latter is their most personal album as it tells the story of the 7 members and was released for its 7th anniversary.
My favorite genre is BTS, I don't like to be recognized as "kpop" because it's the term used for an idol manufacturing industry whose purpose is to sell without delivering a message, BTS get involved in their music, they write, compose and produce their albums, deliver a beautiful message, create their own styles and that's why the genre is bts. (In addition to them I can hear other genres like hip hop, trap, R&B)
